Practical Training for the Teachers of Professional Programs

On 18th December 2014, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the travel company Discover Georgia and the LEPL National centre for Teacher Professional Development. the document was signed by the Director of Discover Georgia Nino Kekelidzeand the director of the Center Giorgi Machabeli.
Based on the framework of the Memorandum teachers of different professional programs have been involved in one week training course in the company. The purpose of the training was the teaching qualification improvement and teachers professional development in the field of Tourism. to the framework of tourism at vocational colleges.
Presentations were held by DISCOVER GEORGIA' s team members of the following themes:
- Planning tours in Georgia and outbound;
- official correspondence;
- Budgeting the Tours;
- Service Plus;
- Air Tickets Reservation;
- Visa Procession;
- International Corporate and Diplomatic Protocol;
- Microsoft Office Outlook.
Staff members of Discover Georgia administrated training sessions in practical issues which is the most actual in activities of travel company.
In the training session were involved informative visits in Pegast Touristic and Hotel Tbilisi Marriot.
On the last day of the training there were scheduled practical and informative visits at International Tour Operator - Pegas Touristic and 5* hotel Tbilisi Marriott.
For the future, in the framework of the above mentioned Memorandum of Understanding is still planned other practical training activities, which will increase the quality of professors and the final result will be positively reflected on the students, who will get better knowledge and experience in the field of tourism industry.
