Day 1

Tbilisi-Nokalakevi-Zugdidi

  • 08:00 Departure to Samegrelo
  • On the way, stop in Gori Way Mart
  • 14:00-16:00 visiting Kuji Fortress in Nokalakevi and going down to the river through a secret tunnel. Tsikhegoji is one of the most important monuments of medieval Georgia, located 17 km northeast of west Senaki in Georgia. The settlement is located on the left bank of the river Tekuri.
  • 17:00-18:00 The Church of Bringing the Virgin to the Khobi Church - The complex is based on a monogram of Christ and is an analogue of the Church of the Savior of the X-XI century, similar to which we do not occur among modern temples. The temple as a whole has a circular shape and is decorated with eklar stone.
  • 17:30 Arrival in Zugdidi, hotel accommodation and dinner.

Day 2

Zugdidi-Enguri dam-Sisatura-Zugdidi

  • 10:00 pick up from the hotel
  • 11:00-11:30 Visit Enguri Dam - For the first time since November 2021, visitors have the opportunity to visit the arch dam that were not available to visitors so far.
  • 12:00-15:00 Visiting the ethno-village of Sisatura - "Sisa Tura" is an ethnographic village in Chkhoria near Zugdidi, where the most authentic environment of Samegrelo corner, culture and traditions of life are collected and revived. In the open air, there is a Megrelian courtyard typical of the late Middle Ages, with traditional Colchian dwelling types and unique household items.
  • Lunch in Sisatura, tasting traditional Megrelian cuisine.
  • 15:30 Tsalenjikha church of Transfiguration one of the most famous monuments in western Georgia, and the reason for this is the painting of the church. It is a monument of the X-XIII centuries. Before the church, a fortress was built here, which is indicated by the foundation of the fence.
  • Dinner in a restaurant _ Traditional Megrelian cuisine.

Day 3

Zugdidi-Martvili-Tbilisi

  • 10:00 departure from the hotel to Tbilisi
  • 10:30-12:30 Visiting the Dadiani Palace and walking in the Botanical Garden - It was founded in April 1921 on the base of Georgian antiquities transferred to the storage-treasure and church-monasteries of Samegrelo prince Davit Levani Dadiani. In the museum, museum exhibits of world importance and indeed relics.
  • 14:00-15:30 Martvili Canyon - In the Antiklin built by the Abash River with the limestone rocks of Abdati, a canyon-cut valley. According to the legend, this place was one of the most important sections of the Dadiani summer residence.  Visitors have the opportunity to take a boat ride on the 300-meter (one way) section of the Abasha River and enjoy the beautiful views of the mountain river canyon.
  • Return to Tbilisi
